The Wonderful World of Goldendoodles

What Is a GoldenDoodle?

Goldendoodles are a mix between Golden Retriever and Poodle, making them a wonderful combination of these two well loved breeds. They have a life expectancy is about 13-15 years and require a moderate amount of exercise.

Are Goldendoodles Hypoallergenic?

Allergies are quite complex and shedding is just one component. Dander, saliva, proteins and allergens carried on a dogs coat all contribute to a person's allergic reactions. Due to this, we cannot guarantee that our dogs are hypo-allergenic. It is dependent upon each individual and his/her unique set of allergies.

Baby Blanket test

Still worried you or a loved one might be allergic to your new doodle? We offer a baby blanket testing service . We will place a baby blanket with the litter of puppies exposing it to all that their fluffy little coats have to offer and then send it to you to give a little sniff. This might not be exact science but it may be just what you need to help put your mind at ease.

If you are interested in having this test done please contact us for arrangements. There is a $45 fee for this service.

Goldendoodle coats and grooming

Thanks to their Poodle heritage Goldendoodles can be found in a variety beautiful colors including solid, parti, merle and tuxedo. Their coats are classified as straight (more like a Golden Retriever), wavy, and curly (more like a Poodle).

Goldendoodles coats requires regular grooming. Weekly brushing using a soft slicker brush as well as a good detangling spray and a steel pet comb will work wonders!  Taking a trip to the groomers every 6-8 weeks  will  help maintain a traditional doodle cut.

Understanding the Generations

F1 = Golden Retriever x Poodle
F1B = F1 Goldendoodle x Poodle (or Goldendoodle x Golden Retriever)
F2 = F1 Goldendoodle x F1 Goldendoodle
Multigen = Two Goldendoodle parents – One parent has to be an F1B or multigen.

Here at Golden Liberty Doodles we focus on providing Multigenerational puppies that maintain a F1B percentage of Golden Retriever or greater.
